INTRODUCTION
Thermic Biosafety Cabinet (BSC) is a specialized and essential piece of Laboratory equipment designed to provide a safe environment for working With potentially hazardous biological materials. These cabinets are crucial For protecting laboratory personnel, the surrounding environment, and The integrity of the biological samples being handled. Thermic biosafety Cabinets are commonly used in research, clinical, and diagnostic Laboratories where activities involve the manipulation of microorganisms, tissues, or other biological agents. Thermic biological safety cabinet (BSC) is a valuable supplement to good sterile technique and a necessary ontainment device when working with potentially infectious materials. Thermic BSC use high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters to treat intake And exhaust air. These filtered cabinets are primarily designed to protect Against exposure to particulates. 70% of the air in thermic BSC is Recirculated & 30% is exhausted.
KEY FEATURES

Containment
Thermic Biosafety Cabinets are designed to prevent the escape of harmful microorganisms and particles from the cabinet, protecting both the operator and the external environment.
Airflow Control
Thermic BSC employ a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) or ultra-low penetration air (ULPA) filtration system to ensure a unidirectional airflow within the cabinet. This helps to maintain a sterile working environment and prevent contamination.
Exhaust System
Thermic BSCs are equipped with exhaust systems that filter and remove air before it is released into the environment. This ensures that any potentially hazardous materials are effectively contained and do not pose a risk to the surroundings.
Front Access Opening
Operators can access the work area through a front opening, which is surrounded by a transparent window made of safety glass. This allows visibility and manipulation of materials within the cabinet while maintaining containment.
  • Air Flow : 30% air exhaust 70% air recirculation (class ii type a2)
  • HEPA-filtered exhaust air in type a2 cabinet may be recirculated into the room or exhausted to the outdoors through a canopy exhaust connection.
  • HEPA-filtered downflow air is a portion of mixed downflow and inflow air from a common plenum
  • Negative pressure air surrounding all biological contaminated ducts and plenums.
  • Negative pressure surrounds the work area with double wall plenums for protection.
  • Air drawn through pre-filter is made to pass through highly effective hepa (high efficiency particular air) filters having efficiency rating as high as 99.99% with cold dop and 99.97% with hot dop, thus retaining all air-borne particles of size 0.3 micron and large. The highly efficient hepa filter maintains the optimum cleanliness and purity. Being equipped with the prefilter, it can extend the life of hepa filter.
  • Sash is counterbalanced for smooth and light weight operation with standard opening of 200mm ±10 mm for easier access to work zone and enhanced user safety.
  • Complete with cupboard enable the user to sit & work along with one drawer & closet

Safe Working Practices
Users are required to follow specific guidelines and procedures to ensure the safe and effective use of thermic biosafety cabinets. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (ppe) and adhering to proper decontamination protocols. Thermic biosafety cabinets play a crucial role in maintaining a secure and controlled environment for laboratory work involving biological materials. The proper selection, use, and maintenance of these cabinets are essential to ensure the safety of laboratory personnel and the integrity of the research being conducted. It's important to note that the specific type of biosafety cabinet used depends on the nature of the work being conducted and the level of containment required. Additionally, users must adhere to established protocols, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and follow decontamination procedures to ensure the safe and effective use of biosafety cabinets.
